Samonella is nasty business for those who are sick already. Hydrolyzed whatever ingredients show up on lots of dry grocery labels. Read them and decide if how much you will allow those ingredients to be in your cupboard or food stash. Going to be tough time for the plant workers as people may judge them.

Canadians know that name (samonella)--not a good thing to see it making the news again. Time to consider making some food at home and save some health at the same time. Golly, several choices at the shops, but we gamble on what those choices can do for us internally. Porcelain express or worse (IV drip in hospitals or one-way to morgue). :(

I was reading your Post pysanky a while back & you are right. Problem in Canada is that we have TWO official languages being English for the present majority to French to the present minority. We havee to read all on a bottle or whatever of medicine off the shelf.

Mind you in the future years Canada will consist of a MINORITY of ex-Europearn parents born in Canada as Canadians with the majority being of different skin colours to ex-nationalities to ex-languages SO can you imagine a medical container is more then two languages here in Canada & MIGHT be an additional official language in the USA as well.

It is the feeling of the Govt the new people entering Canada to become sworn in Canadaian to their children will be a mix of Asian to so many from over in east Africa, & just so many more which can also be from South America.

Does make you think does it not?

Of interest Winchester T-22 Target Long Rifle ammo was NOT printed in said, present, two languages, because Winchester Ammo makers would not sell to Canada as the duplicate of two languages was TWO MUCH, & pointed out all they had to do was sell 1% more to those living in the State of California which was as much if not more then into Canada.

Some how they got around the above double print on a box of ammo & for the past 3 yrs we have been able to buy above .22 cal ammo here in Canada.

I remember well, when just a kid. my Father was showing me about a UNIVERSAL language that could include Mexico, Spanish to some others, but it never got off the ground.

Soomething I had in mind, was just a few yrs ago when one of the Honda representives that I know well, stated he was out keying the head mechanics into their latest Honda cars of a few yrs back & mentioned that the voice was used to turn on the radio, command the side windors to up & down to some other things. No, at that time, the voice did not command the ignition switch, for it w as a few yrs back.

My question was what happens of the wife was driving the car, or the owner with quite an accent & he pointed that was well tried out. Though it was any sort of mix-up in the commands that did some strage things in these latest Honda cars of a few yrs back. I have a hunch I will be hearing from this representative of the Honda distriburter in a while AND that is whey I will be asking some more questions.

McNeil recalls children's medicines that don't meet standards
Sat May 1, 8:01 AM
By The Associated Press

WASHINGTON - More than 40 over-the-counter infant's and children's liquid medications are being recalled in the United States, Canada and 10 other countries because they don't meet quality standards.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare issued the recall for children's versions of Tylenol, Tylenol Plus, Motrin, Zyrtec and Benadryl after consulting with the Food and Drug Administration.

In Canada, it said Saturday the impact is limited to all lots of children's Motrin and infants' Motrin liquid suspension products and children's Tylenol cough and runny nose liquid suspension only. [url]

The medicines were made and distributed in the United States, and exported to Canada, the Dominican Republic, United Arab Emirates, Fiji, Guam, Guatemala, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and Kuwait.

Good idea to ensure that your medicine cupboard does not have the affected remedies sitting on the shelves. While pharmacies are still offering medicine disposal service, take your remedies to them for proper disposal.

When I read your thread, at the start, & on came the knowledge that we have English & French as the two languages in Canada.

I do know when some instructions are writen out, so often that is left to a French/Cdn fluent with English as well. So every once in a while one will not a difference in pronouncing.

Back in '78 I was forced to take the complete DL on a m/c though I had been riding since '46. So noted there were differences in how one was to come on a road from another road. My understanding did not jive with that of the test. So pointed this out to the person that would check my answers & such. They were so sure the inctruction book was correct, but I pointed out this was in the way French Cdns pronounce.

He had to agree & I passed with 100% to the same in eye testing to hearing to also m/c riding for the poor chap did not know a thing about m/cs & asked some wrong words to those of someone with ignorance in that field.

Surprising thing is at the big Vancouver event, I think it is called PNE, & around later on in the day a guard needed some water to drink to purchased a plastic container of one only to go down sick & effected by something in the water or dangerous to all.

Immediatly all bottled water was returned to the people that prepared it & the same water plant supplied proper water, they had also tested, so thing should be okay.

Still if the water was poisened then who did it for sure people at this big Vancouver fun day would be in need of some water to drink during the week.

Has one scratching their head is how come, who & so much more.

We have water at the gun range & hit the water line 350' deep. Now one of the members does the proper test & our water is clean, all the time, though a bit on the hard side. Though most come with coffee they have in their containers or plastic containers as some fast food place. If it is a club event then we make up the coffee for the club & it is handed out freely.

While there has only been one incident, there is no guarantee it wont happen again before the PNE ends. The hospital says he will be fine but you just never know what long term effects could show up.
